Get ready for the signature PDCA educational and networking event jam-packed with enough training and connections to launch your business into a new orbit!

Every year at the EXPO, PDCA’s Contractor College provides courses on technical and business topics that hone contractors’ technical skills, industry knowledge, and understanding of how to grow business to the next level. We bring in the best and brightest minds to introduce the latest tools and industry information that will make your experience at EXPO something worth planning your year around. The complete educational calendar will be available closer to the event, but below is an idea of the high-quality training you can expect. We have listened to your feedback gathered from past EXPOs, and we have responded by pulling together a schedule of over 40 courses, masters classes, hard-hat tours, and affinity meetings that cover just about every topic that contractors are clamoring to hear about.

Contractor College—Residential/Commercial Education

Contractor College education courses run for three days from Wednesday, March 9  through Friday, March 11. Topics are arranged in Commercial/Residential tracks (or both!), and offer plenty of options for you to determine which courses are best for your business at its particular stage of growth. The full schedule of courses will be available for you to view in the coming months, so stay-tuned for the chance to plan your specific track for your time at the EXPO. All courses are applicable on PDCA Accreditation transcripts.

Hard-Hat Tours

New this year are Hard-Hat Tours. Tours are $39 each, and will focus on large industry projects that will teach you something new at locations of interest in the New Orleans area. Tours are being set up by PDCA forum leadership and the education team to ensure an educational experience that will give you a glimpse of methods you can take back with you and apply in your area of expertise. Each tour will focus on a location and project that reflect the interests of participants in Residential, Commercial, and Craftsmanship segments of the industry. Tours are from 1 – 5 pm, and include bus tickets and lunch for all participants. You can add this option to your EXPO registration at any time, or call 1-800-332-7322 for assistance.

PDCA “Throw-Down” Debate

Introducing PDCA’s latest version of the Friday Summary Session: Throw-Down Debates! In the past we’ve have hosted panel discussions which focused on an industry topic and allowed presenters to talk through issues in a way that illuminated creative solutions and alternative perspectives. This year our Throw-Down Debate will pitch two teams of presenters against each other that represent alternative viewpoints on industry issue or method, and they will good-naturedly and humorously engage in a mock-debate about pros and cons of methods in the painting industry. The dramatic style is all in good fun, but the content will center on issues pertinent in the world of contractors, and will highlight content which, while theatrically presented, will be sure to attendees on different viewpoints and deliver concrete takeaways. Debate teams will drive home their points through statements, rebuttals, and audience Q&A to impress their lessons upon the audience in an entertaining and unforgettable way. You won’t want to miss this.

Masters Classes

PDCA is proud to offer, for the first time, Masters Classes at which you will sit under product specialists to learn about new tools of the trade, and to have a first-hand experience work with products. Our two Masters Classes will focus on new products and methods, and will take place on Friday from 1:00 – 2:30 pm, and 3:00 – 4:30 pm. These Masters Classes are FREE for all attendees, but you’ll need to mark these options on your registration form to let us know how many to plan for. You can add this option to your EXPO registration at any time, or call 1-800-332-7322 for assistance.
